NGen Leadership Award

The American Express NGen Leadership Award honors one accomplished nonprofit leader age 40 or under who has already demonstrated significant impact in addressing society's critical needs.

Ai-jen Poo, director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, accepts the 2011 American Express NGen Leadership Award at the John W. Gardner Leadership Award Dinner at the 2011 IS Annual Conference in Chicago, IL.

In addition to already demonstrating a significant impact in addressing society's critical needs, the recipient of this award must also:

  • Display a proven ability to collaborate in innovative, inclusive ways;
  • Show how they identify needs, generates solutions and assesses progress toward goals; and
  • Model leadership presence.
